Patrick Paia Kauanui
Patrick Paia Kauanui, 70, of Anahola, passed away on March 14 at his home in Anahola.
Born on Jan. 3, 1947 in Lihue, he was a boat captain and an entertainer.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Blossom Kauanui, son Keale William Kauanui and brother Burl White.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Kauanui, son Keala (Lynette Furumoto) Kauanui, daughters Sunny Jo (Kua‘aina Apana) Kauanui and Patty B (Carlito Pasion Jr.) Kauanui, 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brothers Joseph Kauanui of Florida, Vern Kauanui of Anahola and Emery Kauanui of Lihue, sisters Robynne Kanoho of Anahola, Maile Ann Kaopuiki of Molokai and Rudolph Kanekoa of Anahola and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friend may visit with the family on Friday, March 24 at the Kapaa Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 9 to 10:30 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
The family suggests casual attire.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary.
Stella Trinidad Kaiulani Lindsey Duarte
Stella Trinidad Kaiulani Lindsey Duarte, 76, of Puhi, passed away on March 8 at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on January 25, 1941 in Lihue she was a sales clerk at WalMart.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Victoria Lindsey, daughter Rae Ella Duarte, brothers Edwin, Stanford and Silas Lindsey, and sister Vicky Lindsey.
She is survived by her husband Raymond R. Duarte, son Raymond K. (Theresa) Duarte, sisters Healani Mandrigues and Debbie (Kula) Schumacher, three grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 29 at the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Lihue Ward at 4580 Ehiku St. from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Private inurnment will be held at a latter time. The family suggests casual attire, requests that flowers be omitted but welcome lei.
