J. Curtis McCosco
J. Curtis McCosco of Kapaa passed away at home on March 3, 2017, at the age of 68. He was born in Massachusetts on Aug. 13, 1948, and was a wedding photographer.
Curtis is survived by his wife, KatRama Brooks; sisters, Patricia McCosco and Joyce McCosco; brother, Kevin McCosco and one nephew.
Private services will be held.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the McCosco family with arrangements.
Karen Yoshime Aulani Yoshino Lumacad
Karen Yoshime Aulani Yoshino Lumacad, 57, of Lihue, Food and Beverage Manager of Ho’okipa Cafe at Puakea Golf Course, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Harriette Yoshino.
She is survived by husband Claude Lumacad, daughter Nicole Lumacad (Rustin Tom), son Jason (Jessica) Lumacad, 5 grandchildren, Kainalu Lumacad-Aguinaldo, Zayden and Kalena Tom and Keiren and Teighzen Lumacad, 3 sisters: Lianne Yoshino, Noreen (Kurt) Javinar, Elise (Jesse) Guirao; 6 nephews, 1 neice, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Celebration of Life services will be held at Borthwick Mortuary, Koloa, Hi on Thursday, March 9. Visitation at 10 a.m., Service at 11 a.m.
Elsie Mew Lung Goo
Elsie Mew Lung Goo of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Feb. 24, 2017, at the age of 93. Born on March 13, 1923, in Kapaia, Kauai, Hawaii she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by: husband, Edward Goo, son, Lester Goo.
Survived by: son, Bernard (Gemma) Goo, Roland (Lynette) Goo, daughter, Sylvia Gibbony,13 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren 3 great great-great grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. at All Saints Church, Kapaa. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. with service at 10:30 a.m. Private Burial. Family suggest flowers be omitted. Casual attire.

Masao Yamamoto of Wailua Houselots passed away at home on Feb. 22, 2017, at the age of 105. He was born in Lihue, Kauai on Feb. 9, 1912, and was the proprietor of of the Wailua Service Station.
Preceded in death by his wife, Suzuyo Iida Yamamoto.
Masao is survived by four children; Robert (Kazuko) Yamamoto, Kathleen Yamamoto, George Yamamoto, Jane (Alan) Matsuzaki; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Family requests no Koden.
Private services were held on March 7, 2017.

Remedia Simon Battulayan of Lihue passed away at home on Feb. 22, 2017, at the age of 88. She was born on Jan. 25, 1929, in Marcos Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a housewife.
Preceded in death by her husband Elpidio Battulayan, Father Rufino Simon, Mother Catalina Simon, Brother Pacifico Simon,Sisters Felicidad Simon and Linang Simon, son Don Battulayan.
Remedia survived by children: Benhur (Delia) Battulayan of Eleele, Alberto (Anita)Battulayan of Kekaha, Erlinda (Primo) Ballesteros of Hanamaulu, Patricia (Nestor) Mangrobang of Ewa Beach,Andy Sr. (Melda) Battulayan of Kalaheo, Julie (Alex) Castro of Lihue, Benita (Amir) Felizardo of Lihue, sister-in-law Crystal Battulayan, sisters: Purification Juan of Kona, Reymunda Battulayan of Philippines, Virginia Navarro of Philippines,Edita Pablo of Philippines, brothers: Ricardo Simon, and Agustin Simon both of Philippines. Has 28 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 10, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa, visitation from 6 to 9 p.m., again on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Church in Lihue, visitation from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Mass will be at 10 a.m., Burial to follow at Kalapaki Bay Memorial Park Cemetery.
