LIHUE — E Kanikapila Kakou 2017 will feature Project Kuleana in its 7th week today.
From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., a video will feature numerous Hawaiian musicians; the next two hours will be live music featuring many Kauai artists. Musicians include Carlos Andrade, Chucky Chock, Darryl Gonsalves, Lady Ipo, Kawika Sproat and Ed Punua.
The event takes place in the Jasmine Ballroom of the Aqua Kauai Beach Resort for a suggested donation of $10.
E Kanikapila Kakou means “let’s play music.” With this year’s theme of “Music is Our Kuleana,” EKK represents the best of Hawaiian music every Monday night for 10 weeks, finishing up on March 27 with a ticketed concert at Kauai Community College featuring Jerome Koko of Makaha Sons and Daniel Ho of California.
