People are still talking about Mike Faye’s “toys for men” — the Kikiaola Construction crane — that towered over the Contractors Association of Kauai 25th annual Home Show. Mike said he’s gotta have a conversation with Kauai Fire Department Chief Robert Westerman about how the crane is taller than the KFD’s new ladder truck (Solomon Kanoho transferred to the Koloa station to be near the ladder).
The crane impressed the judges enough to earn Best In Show honors for Kikiaola, and Karen Taketa said someone had a really nice night photo (too bad we had volleyball Friday night — Joe Grace arrived late so there went dinner).
Elise Silva said she checked the numbers following the most recent Kauai All Girl Rodeo Association event, and those results show her daughters Coryssa and Casera Silva getting All Around Cowgirl and Reserve All Around Cowgirl honors, respectively, and there was no Mike Teruya to provide a photo of the Silva girls.
Kudos to Kiara Ruiz on being busy helping the 4-H Livestock Club at the Garden Fair, and participating in the final Keiki and High School rodeo Sunday!
