LIHUE — There will be dance, some skits and a little bit of everything in “Finale,” which opens for a one-night performance Wednesday at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.
“This is a new environment for the students,” Megan Nii, director of the Elsie Wilcox Elementary School Creative Arts program, said of the hall. “Normally, we practice on the grass, or in the portable.”
Doors to the convention hall open at 5:30 p.m. for the free performance which starts at 6:30 p.m.
Food will be available for purchase while waiting for the auditorium doors to open at 6 p.m.
“Finale” is a culmination of all the dances, songs and skits the children have learned through the year — including the numbers from the Lights on Rice holiday parade, said Wilcox teacher Tamra Martin.
“We have the school watching during the day,” Nii said.
“We want the public to see this variety show so we’re doing the evening show. It should be a lot of fun.”
