Sponsored by Kevin’s Repair & Racing, Snap On Tools and Kauai Vehicle Service Center, the young Rapozo shot off the line on a .083 light to reach an 8.988 ET (72.7 mph) on an 8.90 dial-in to capture the division crown.
Montemayor, sponsored by Matsuda Bros. Racing, GM Fabrication, Kaya Race Fuels, Altered Image and the evening’s title sponsor Kuhio Auto Group, picked up the Closest to Dial-In award for a run of 8.53 ET on an 8.50 dial-in. The run took place ahead of the finals against Rapozo where Montemayor broke out on a .120 light to run an 8.582 ET (73.53 mph) against an 8.65 dial in.
Devin Almarza took third place honors behind a sponsor package by Troy’s Place, Bamboo Grill & Sushi, Kevin’s Repair & Racing, and Nex Gen Diesel. Christopher Silva, sponsored by RC Fabrication, 420 Air, Don Silva, Ekolu Valpoon, Keola and Janil Ke, papa and mama and Kauai Vehicle Service, settled for fourth place.
Ryancie Sakamoto finished with a 0.010 reaction time to pick up the Best Reaction award. Ryant Sakamoto topped the Second Shot class behind a sponsorship package of Rapozo’s Auto Body, Philip and Rich Rapozo, Brick Oven Pizza, All Kauai Bail Bonds, Diamond D Ranch, Triple T Plumbing, PMS-Pauly’s Mobile Service and Half-Scale Dragsters. Nainoa Kanei finished second in the Second Shot class.

Michael Acoba shot off the light on a .133 reaction time to reach an 8.806 ET (151.42 mph) on an 8.8 dial in to claim the top spot over Manny Lawrence, sponsored by Purple Haze Racing, Manny’s Repair Service, Lawrence ‘Ohana, Barry Arruda Construction, Souza ‘Ohana, Kapena and Bobby Texeira, coming off a .452 light to run a 24.283 ET (24.08 mph) on a 7.87 dial in.
