LIHUE — Bev Brody of Get Fit Kauai finally got to try the blender bicycle during the Girls’ Night Out celebration of women’s health at Wilcox Medical Center.
“This is great,” Brody said. “This is the first time I’m doing this. I’ve always wanted to try this out after seeing it for the last six times.”
The Thursday event offered free activities and information, in addition to the blender bicycle.
“What do you mean, ‘a few more seconds?’” Brody asked dietitian Nicole Sievers, who came to check on the smoothie doneness. “My legs are tired.”
The blender bike was just one of several free activity stations, which included a progressive relaxation workshop, chair massages featuring seven masseuses, a hand rejuvenation treatment with Rodan and Fields, and a makeup demonstration by MAC of Macy’s.
“This is all for the ladies,” said Faith Campbell, the Wilcox Medical Center community relations director. “These are all things ladies are interested in. Additionally, we are sold out on the mammograms. That’s more than 100 women who signed up for mammograms.”
The evening also included a doc talk with Dr. Carrie Fitzgerald, who spoke on women’s health, and pupu with non-alcoholic cider and soda water in flutes with wine charms.
