Kudos to Harvey Maeda on another great Kauai Classic Car show for Father’s Day! Wade Lord was thrilled because he could ride his motorcycle, and Harvey said the good turnout was because the weather was so good. Leona Perez said she gave Kelvin Moniz the Father’s Day weekend off so had to take care of the Kauai Independent Food Bank end of the car show (hopefully, she got a break to watch the Cirque Ohana performance!).
Metalhaus had their whole Puhi store set up, and Tracie Sakamoto had some of the Kauai junior dragsters hanging next to the Metalhaus tent … good sounds coming out of there … Barry DeBlake got to bring out the Kauai Police Department rescue vehicle because Lance Okasaki was doing duty with Pua Pia and KPD Explorer Mandie Manuel at the 10th annual Kids Summer Fest. So, who was doing the K-PAL flag football?
Kauai Fire Chief Robert Westerman (he’s part of the Fatherhood Council) said they were stretched thin, too, having to have the new ladder at Harvey’s car show, and an engine and crew down at the Kids Summer Fest … good thing they didn’t have to worry about flag football.
Kudos, too, to Jen Chahanovich and all the family of Wilcox Health and the community (Val Saiki was not at Tropic Care Kauai) who spent their Saturday helping more than a thousand young people stay safe and have a healthy summer.
