LIHUE — The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement Wednesday about the arrival of the King Tides over the next few days that could result in coastal flooding along the Hawaiian Islands.
Low-lying roads, docks, boat ramps and other coastal infrastructure could be inundated.
Beachgoers should be aware that there is a possibility of stronger than normal currents and rip currents, and should check with a lifeguard prior to entering the water.
“If you live or work in a low-lying area that is prone to flooding from the tides, it is recommended that you move electronics and other belongings to a higher area,” said a county press release.
