Gordon Dodd
Gordon Dodd (Reno) passed away in June 2017. Gordon was born in June 1950, in Michigan to James and Catherine Dodd.
His background was in Secondary Ed, Ki-Aikido, Zen and Hinduism. Gordon joined the Kauai community in 1990. He taught at Kauai schools and was a case manager in Kauai’s mental health and disabilities community.
He was a licensed minister and performed many wedding services and vow renewals. He also had a private counseling and healing practice. Compassion and humor were key elements in his life and work as well as the thorough enjoyment of sharing puns!
Gordon authored two books: Secrets of the Flame and Give Me More. He designed and invented the game/learning tool Heart Search, enjoyed woodworking and the creation of wooden folk toys.
Gordon is survived by his sister, Linda (Patrick) Crane; nieces, Shannon (Chris) Dupé, Andrea(Ian) Schnee and their children, Calvin and Bridget. Gordon will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. His heart was kind and true.
One of Reno’s requests was that “you each raise a glass and make a toast to LIFE and that you each live your lives in LOVE and be happy”.
Aloha, Gordon.
