LIHUE — AARP is hosting a free public seminar to learn how to avoid scams Aug. 10 from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Paddle Room of the Marriott Courtyard Kauai at Coconut Beach in Waipouli.
Attendees will learn about the psychology of money, common tactics used by modern con artists, ways to protect yourself, and Hawaii’s top frauds. Susan Arthur of FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) Investor Education Foundation will be the featured speaker for the event.
