Today is the last day to take advantage of all those goodies (Stephanie Shinno, Keith Uyeno, Charlene Garcia and Flo Tazaki have all those ono goodies at the Garden Island Federal Credit Union; Janice Russell is doing a “country fair” at the Kauai Teachers Federal Credit Union [isn’t that where Janice Bond was doing scrubbies last year?], and where did Kelvin Moniz say you can get one of those cool water thingies for a donation?) to benefit the Fifteen for Fifteen food drive benefiting the Kauai Independent Food Bank.
This is also a good day for shopping on the South Shore since Edwin Vea is hosting a craft fair with more than 30 vendors on the lawn (nope, no surf meet) of The Beach House Saturday from 9 a.m. with some of the proceeds benefiting the Toys for Tots program. And lunch is being served from 11 a.m.-ish.
On the way down to Poipu, Debbie Yanagihara is hosting a craft fair at the Koloa Elementary School (thank you for cutting the grass along Kaumualii Highway so you can see the sign) starting at 8:30 a.m. (yes, it’s Saturday, too) … if you go early, you might get lucky and see Alden Alayvilla (both he and Kim Tamaoka were full-on working during the joint proclamation celebrating Mahelona Hospital’s 100th anniversary — yikes, it’s this weekend!).
