Shyden Likeke Kaniala Kaneholani-Ponte
Shyden Likeke Kaniala Kaneholani-Ponte of Wailua Houselots passed away from his battle with cancer at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children on July 18, 2017, at the age of 9. He was born in Lihue on February 13, 2008 and was a student at Wilcox Elementary School.
Preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Alfred & Evelyn Reis and Herbert & Elizabeth Kaneholani.
Shyden is survived by his parents, Bryon Ponte and Shy Kaneholani-Ponte; sisters, Brittney, Bryanna, Bryancie; brothers, Shane and Shaisten; grandparents, Fred and Sharon Ponte and Daniel Kaneholani and Evangeline Reis; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 12, at Anahola Beach Park (Hawaiian Homes side) with viewing from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 11 a.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Pastora Viray Cayabyab
Pastora Viray Cayabyab, 85 years old of Kapaa, Kauai passed away on July 15, 2017. at her home. She was born on February 3, 1932, in the Philippines.
She is survived by her husband; Guillermo Cayabyab; son, Marcelino (Belen) Cayabyab, California; daughters, Merna (Owen) Tango, Kekaha, Imelda (Gabriel) Sur, Oahu, Minette (Fred) Agag, Oahu, Emily (Jose) Cayabyab, Kapaa, Amparo (Kamaka) Fernandez, Anahola; grandchildren, Kekoa, Kayleen, Keone, Kory, Kiana, Meleana, Kalei, Keola, Ikona, Christian Jose, Makanalei, & Po’okela; brothers, Martin & Danny Viray (Philippines) and numerous nieces, nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday July 26, 2017, at St. Theresa’s Church in Kekaha from 9 a.m. and Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
