The Kauai Junior Blazing Bowlers announces the start of its season which begins Sept. 10 at the Kauai Bowl in the Rice Shopping Center.
Todd Ozaki, a league coach, said no experience is needed to join the fun. Bowlers from ages 6 through 20 years old are welcome to check out the league which meets every Sunday from noon at Kauai Bowl.
Fees include a $10 annual membership to the United States Bowling Congress. Additional fees are $10 each week which includes an $8 lane fee and $2 for the awards fund. If needed, shoe rental is $3.50.
The fee includes three games with a warm-up session, one-on-one instruction, weekly average and handicap tracking, and additional coaching following each league play. Parents are always welcome to watch.
Ozaki, Marilou Knight, and Becky Williams are the coaches for the Junior Blazing Bowlers who have progressed to the Bronze Level Coaching Certification from the US Bowling Congress entering this season’s play.
One of the highlights from the 2016 season includes Ian Luis, 19, who attended the Junior Gold Championships in Cleveland, Ohio in July where he bowled in the field of more than 3,000 of the country’s best youth bowlers and got to meet his favorite Professional Bowlers Association member Norm Duke.
