Albizia trees present problems
This island is in dire need to control the invasive albizia trees, which are creating havoc on roads, electric lines and cable wires, breaking windshields of cars and may injure a person. Some have gotten to 100 feet already.
It was a foolish move to have even brought these here with what we know now about the other invasive tress brought here long ago — Java plum, camphor and many more.
Who allowed these tree to be planted first by the tree tunnel? Now they cover most of Kauai. I have witnessed the branches sparking flames on Hauiki Road and called KIUC. It took two days before they addressed the issue. Now they are closing Olohena Road for 10 days only to cut some of the trees, but not the ones that interact with wires.
Why not coordinate with county and KIUC to do it together rather than close the road again? They are not being proactive, but only reactive, when something happens, such as the three cars recently that were hit by falling branches.
Must someone get severely injured first or have a week without cable and electric before they deal with them? I was told by the county workers (whose names I will not disclose) that the mayor was told years ago about this, and his comment was “Put it on the shelf.”
Well, it is time to clear that shelf and get to work.

Trump supporters should be embarrassed
I really hope all the Trump supporters are enjoying the implosion as much as I am. What an absolute embarrassment to therest of the world.
So much for making America great again. 2020 won’t get here fast enough.

Stop poisoning environment
You would dump more poisons into our environment, deliberately? You endanger not only sea life, so important for stability, but human beings. How will you be remembered? As the groups who saw fit to dump poison into our environment? Got kids? They will deal with such insane actions.

Say ‘no’ to hate letters
I am sick and tired of reading the hateful letters to the editor. Please stop publishing them. Frankly I find the obituaries muchmore interesting.
