Leonora Orr (she does some pretty neat produce sketches) wants more people to patronize the Tuesday sunshine market at the historic County Building. Dan Fort said the hours are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday.
Tuesday was especially busy since Lee Steinmetz, Bev Brody, Tommy Noyes, Dr. Randy Blake and a whole lot of county people rolled out the Rice Roll bicycle ride (Planning Dept. makes great sushi!) and Wally Rezentes, Kim Tamaoka, and Sarah Blane got to serve up the “aid station” delicacies at Vidinha Stadium.
Dr. Addison Bulosan (what was the name of the place with the Friday night gig?) had his Lance Armstrong mountain bike, and Elton Ushio said even if he is solo on the tandem, he can almost reach street bike speeds. Jim Benkert is the vintage bike guru just as Harvey Maeda does the vintage cars. Jim had a 1984 979 Vitus which he restored after someone gave him the bike literally out of a storage shed.
June Cappiello (she’s been really busy with all those presentations) said the RumFeast at the RumFire Poipu is the start of the Kauai’s Best Bartender (mahalo for the cap, Chip Bahouth!) presented by Koloa Rum. Tonight is the feast. The Best Bartender series starts next Friday.
