LIHUE — The Agency on Elderly Affairs will be hosting “Live Well, Age Well” symposium for kupuna at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall on Thursday at 3 p.m.
The symposium will feature a community resource fair with vendors offering services for kupuna, a meet-and-greet with the agency’s volunteers and a healthy meal cook-off with a few of Kauai’s elected officials and special guests.
Wilcox Hospital’s Nicole Siever will speak on healthy eating, and the chef from Wilcox will oversee the contestants. There will be a drawing for four people from the audience to judge the creations.
A healthy meal will be provided for attendees.
Dr. Dennis Pezzato will be a special guest speaker and will talk about brain health in the later years.
Volunteers with the agency will speak about their involvement with AEA and explain the importance of volunteering.
