The Korean American Foundation Hawaii will be celebrating the 115th Korean immigration to U.S./Hawaii with a fundraising banquet this Saturday, Jan. 13.
On Jan. 13, 1903, the first Korean immigrants arrived in Hawaii to work on the plantation fields aboard the USS Gaelic. The KAFH will be having its annual banquet at the Sheraton Hotel with cultural displays starting at 5 p.m. and program starting at 6. Korean Americans in Hawaii will be recognized for their community service with the Light of the Orient Award. Tickets are $125, which includes dinner and a show.
Daniel Pyun, chairman of the board for KAFH, says, “We are grateful beneficiaries of the first immigrants and those who followed. They faced and overcame many challenges to make a new life and future. Now as an integral part of Hawaii’s multi-ethnic community, we support efforts to promote and share the spirit of Korea.”

Monday, 7:45 p.m.: Jong-sam escapes with the money and meets Lee Kwang-ho to negotiate, but it doesn’t go as planned. He’s hooked into the racket even more. Jin-young meets with Scab and finds out about Jong-sam. Jong-sam and Scab are to be gotten rid of.
Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Scab and Jong-sam are put in a dire situation. Jong-sam loses one person he cares deeply for. He is given a chance at a new life, to fight the injustice. Jong-sam chooses to live and undo what’s been wronged.

Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Jung-joo pushes forward with proving her brother’s innocence. She faces Do Jin-myung in court. Myung-hee tells her husband she can only redeem herself by proving Kyung-ho’s innocence. Jung-joo warns Han-joon to keep away from the case again, but he refuses.
Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Do Jin-myung’s domestic abuse makes the papers. Han-joon is upset at seeing Jung-joo and Ui-hyun working so well together. Myung-hee tells Han-joon there’s more to what he sees, that will soon be revealed. Myung-hee is called to court.

Today, 6:30 p.m.: While trying to save his sister, Gildong gets hurt and loses his memory. Gildong stays at Danae-ok and becomes close with Noksu, and open their hearts to each other. Yonsan makes a shocking confession to King Sung-jong on his deathbed.
Today, 7:45 p.m.: Gildong sets out to find his sister. Gong-hwa follows her ambition to the palace, where the King is. Gildong only finds Ga-ryong waiting for him at Daeaeok. As Gildong regains his memory, he assembles his father’s men to go up against Prince Chungwon.
