Tom Shigemoto has been elected president of the new Executive Board of Directors for the Kauai Housing Development Corp. during its annual meeting, Dec. 20.
Shigemoto, serving in various elected positions on the board since 2003, replaces outgoing president Dennis Nakahara.
Joining Shigemoto on the new board, Michael Murakoshi is the vice president, Clyde Nakaya serves as treasurer, and Wanda Shibata fills the secretary position.
Shigemoto is the vice president of planning at A&B Properties, Inc., involved with project planning, real estate and infrastructural development and residential and agricultural subdivision projects.
Board members include Dennis Nakahara, immediate past president, Marc Ventura, Marion Penhallow, Roy Katsuda, Gini Kapali, and Keith Nitta.
Kauai Housing Development Corp. was incorporated in 1992 as a private nonprofit corporation for the purpose of providing affordable housing for low and moderate income families. The organization has designed and constructed five projects — Kalepa Village II, Kalepa Village III, Pa‘anau Village, Lihue Theater Senior Housing, and Hale Kupuna Senior Housing.
