Lihue
There are a couple of portable buildings on the convention hall property near the Lihue Boys & Girls Club that are deteriorating. What are the plans to either refurbish and use, or move from this location? The buildings are eyesores and termite eaten.
The Boys & Girls Club has the lease for these portable buildings and it’s our understanding that they are in the process of fundraising to refurbish them. They would likely welcome any assistance or support from interested community members who wish to improve their look.
Kapaa
The parking area for the Kealia Beach Lookout has a few potholes that continue to get deeper. Can this be patched or filled?
This location is not county jurisdiction. Please contact the state Department of Transportation.
The vegetation alongside the left side of Hauaala Road as you are heading up to Kawaihau Road (across from Kapaa Jodo Mission) is overgrown and becoming a safety hazard for drivers and pedestrians. Can the county please send a crew to assess and trim the overgrown vegetation?
This area is not within county right of way. We would advise contacting the state Department of Transportation.
