Richard Sasan of Lihue passed away on Dec. 4, 2017, in Wilcox Medical Center at the age of 81. He was born in Lihue on March 28, 1936, was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and retired from the National Weather Service on Oahu and Kauai, under the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, as a meteorologist technician.
He was preceded in death by wife Liane Sasan, parents Timoteo and Francesca Generalao Sasan, sister Lily Sasan and brother Fred Sasan.
He is survived by daughters Cookie Puahala (Darrel Jacobs), Sissy (Willian) Jerves, Tootsie Sasan (Leo Borrero) and Heide Sasan (Bernard) Duarte, nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brothers Jay (Diane) Sasan and William (Mary) Sasan, sisters Josephine (Victor) Bigno and Lucille (Tony) Bargayo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 30, at Immaculate Conception Church, with visitation from 8 a.m. and services beginning at 9:45 a.m. Inurnment will be held at 1 p.m. at Kauai Veteran Cemetery in Hanapepe.
The family graciously declines flowers.

Dorothy Tung Moi Chow Huddy
Dorothy Tung Moi Chow Huddy, 99, of Kapaa, passed away on Dec. 17, 2017, at her home in Kapaa.
Born on Dec. 12, 1918, in Niumalu, she was a retired cashier and cook with the Big Save gift shop and Olympic Cafe.
She was preceded in death by husband Abraham Huddy and parents Yee and Shee Chow.
She is survived by sons: retired Judge Wendell K. Huddy of Oahu and Charles K. (Cynthia) Huddy of Massachusetts, daughter Anne D.K. Huddy Crawford of Texas, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at a later date.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
