James Alisna Jr. and Janelle Chock of Alamo Rent A Car had time between customers to have fun with the Halloween decorations set up at the Lihue Airport facility. Samira Siale (she was even chasing runners at the state cross country meet) said Shannon Maxwell (she’s the Kauai United Way Campaign co-chair!) likes to get involved in events when she learns of them. They just celebrated a pink day for breast-cancer awareness last week, and had a rainbow day as well.
Chef Martina Hilldorfer is already looking ahead to the Poipu Food and Wine Festival, which will benefit the Kauai Community College culinary-arts students. Chef Martina said the culinary kids will be doing the chef’s demo during the Nov. 8 Kauai Culinary Market at The Shops at Kukuiula as a prelude to the second annual festival, which kicks off Nov. 8 and runs through Nov. 12.
Kudos to KCC Chancellor Helen Cox and her crew on the dedication of the new Multi-Purpose Room, which featured Pua Rossi (do we still do the Tuesday afternoon poi by the parking lot?) and Kahu Wayne Vidinha.
The blessing meant no Warrior Princeville golf (Derek Inouchi had to do the Saturday night football game and catch the first flight here to make opening day at the Princeville Makai Golf Club) for Monday.
