Kenna’s Kychen is now in the bus parked on Kress Street and is open (manapua available for catering, or special orders).
Congratulations, too, to Emilio Ruiz, Jadelyn Andaya (she baked up Kulolo Cheesecake for Monday’s Pau Hana Market that Lance the musician said was ono!), Tlaloc (Emilio said it’s Aztec for God of Rain as in the Westside needs rain) of ResiRoots Cafe that started selling at the Pau Hana Market (wonder what Jadelyn’s going to cook for this Monday’s market). Flora Worth said ResiRoots will also be part of the Kauai Culinary Market that meets on Wednesday afternoons at The Shops at Kukuiula. ResiRoots offers the basic ulu and kalo flour, all purpose baking flour, and a brownie mix in addition to their specialty kalo croutons and a furikake mix.
Congratulations to “Siddhartha: Seeker of Truth” (it was Siddhartha’s birthday on Tuesday) playwright and composer Greg Shepherd, music director Monica Chung (Greg said she’s the best pianist in the country), and director Larry Richardson on being awarded First Place in the Arts and Entertainment category of the 2024 Western Access Video Excellence Award … Monica said the award was announced in late March. W.A.V.E. is part of the Alliance for Community Media West Region Conference, and Shepherd’s crew topped entries from California, Nevada, Colorado, Hawaii, New Mexico and Arizona.
