OK, the Kukui Grove Center Spring Festival is going to be on April 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. But registration for the Egg Hunt started Friday morning to ensure that keiki have Easter eggs and goodies during next week’s Spring Festival. You can register online by visiting the Kukui Grove Center website and clicking the Spring Festival event link … it’s always good to register early before everything sells out … and speaking of which, you should keep your eyes peeled for the registration for the 11th annual Back to School Bash that’s going to happen on July 12 at Kukui Grove. The Kukui Grove website says registration for a backpack of school supplies is scheduled to start the morning of July 1.

Closer to home, the Keiki to Career with the Kauai Planning Alliance, the Department of Education and the Department of Health (the Kauai District Health Office is having their National Public Health Week Open House on April 11!) is partnering with other community groups to offer information (lots accompanied with hands-on activities at the 30 booths and stations) and help on getting the young child (and their parents) ready to enter the world of public education on Saturday at the Parent and Child Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The county’s Office of Economic Development and the Kauai Economic Development Board is hosting the Ho‘olaule‘a No Ka Honua Earth Day festival from 10 a.m. to past 4 p.m. (the free with completed passport “Moana 2” movie starts at 2 p.m.) with lots of exhibits and information (again, with interactive activities).
And on Sunday, the Kauai Buddhist Council (yes, they’re the same people that host bon dances during summer) invite people to celebrate Hanamatsuri, or the birth of Buddha, at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall starting at 9:30 a.m.
