LIHUE — The Kauai Island Utility Cooperative announced on Saturday afternoon that Peter Yukimura, Jan TenBruggencate and Edmund Acoba have been elected to the KIUC Board of Directors. The new directors will each serve for a three-year term ending in March 2028.

Merriman River Group, a Connecticut-based election management firm, submitted the official results for the 2025 Board of Directors election on Saturday. The results had Yukimura garnering 3,107 votes, followed by TenBruggencate pulling 2,569 votes, and Acoba getting 2,106 votes.

Janet Kass tallied 1,954 votes, Dan Giovanni had 1,526 votes, and Steve Parsons rounded out the field with 696 votes.

During the election, KIUC mailed 26,788 ballots and received 4,618 responses, or a 17.2 percent turnout.

The elected board members will be inaugurated on March 27 at the Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors.
