Mexican citizen arrested in Kilauea
KILAUEA — A man was arrested last Monday following a suspicious person report in Kilauea.
Kauai Police reported that on Monday, March 17, at approximately 8 p.m., officers were dispatched to Kilauea following reports of a suspicious man taking photographs through a home window. The residents also noted the man was on their home’s roof.
Once on the scene, officers immediately de-escalated the situation and apprehended the suspect without incident. Although the suspect refused to cooperate and was without identification. Law enforcement was able to successfully identify the man as 23-year-old Luis Manterola, a Mexican citizen.
Manterola was charged with Violation of Privacy in the First Degree and remains in custody with his bail set at $50,000.
