The Rotary Club of Poipu Beach sponsors many good community events, including scholarships for high school and Kauai Community College, dictionaries delivered to third-grade students at South Shore schools, the Westside Kids’ Christmas, beach cleanups, taking care of the pavilion at Kukuiolono Park, and more.
Visit the silent auction is a nice way to pass the time before March 15. The National Tropical Botanical Garden is also hosting the Florilegium show (it has a silent auction page, too) at the South Shore Visitor Center near the Spouting Horn lookout.
Edwin Vea said the monthly Beach House Craft Fair happens on Sunday, March 16 (the morning after the fine evening) from 9 a.m. (helps with the parking) to 1 p.m. in Poipu, close to the Prince Kuhio Park, the site near the birthplace of Prince Jonah Kuhio whose birthday is March 26.
Finally, the Super American Circus is coming to the Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center on Friday (show times at 5 and 8 p.m.), Saturday (show times at 1, 4:30, and 7:30 p.m.), and Sunday (show times at 1, 4:30, and. 7:30 p.m.) to launch Spring Break. For tickets, visit www.superamericancircus.com/hawaii.
