The Downtown Lihue Night Market (it happens tomorrow from 5 p.m. on Kress Street) should be hopping with activity because there is a Muumuu Month event happening at the space across Rice Street, and the historic walking tour of Lihue with Lee Gaitly ending when the market starts. The Kauai Historical Society said tickets for the Muumuu Month Paina (it happens from noon on Jan. 19 at Smith’s Tropical Paradise) are still available, and there is a call for fashion contestants for the fashion show that’s part of the paina.
Also feeding into the market, the Bikes on Rice hosts its slow roll from 4:30 p.m. at Kalena Park, ending in time for the start of the market.
On Tuesday, from 5 p.m., Jean Souza of Kauai Ocean Discovery (she also does the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Sanctuary, and the Ocean Count that starts on the last Saturday of January) will be presenting insights into Hawaii Humpback Whale Behavior and Ecology as part of Princeville Moolelo at the Princeville Community Center.
