LIHUE — Drs. Paul and Janie Yoo celebrated the opening Monday of Kauai Dental Studio and Kauai Eye Institute, located at the back entrance to the former Kukui Grove Cinema.
“There have been many people who have been asking, ‘What is going to happen to the theater?’” said Paul Yoo. “We wanted to do something good for the island of Kauai. Eventually, we hope to add another level to the building to create six apartment units. And, perhaps in the future, add another six apartments to the front building to help with the housing situation on the island.”
Drs. Paul Yoo, Miriam Gonzalez and Joyjoy Fries operate the Kauai Dental Studio, which is currently accepting new patients.
Formerly located in the Dynasty Court building, Kauai Dental Studio is open Mondays through Wednesdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Thursdays, the office is open from 7 a.m. to noon. The office is closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Kauai Dental Studio features same-day crowns, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, emergency care and dental implants.
