Diann Mary Huddy
Diann Mary Huddy, of Kalaheo, passed away on Nov. 26, 2024, at home at the age of 79. She was born on Sept. 13, 1945, in New York. She was retired.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alexander William Huddy, son Alika William Huddy, parents Joseph Munks and Gloria Condon Munks.
She is survived by her son Kaina (Mele) Huddy of Kalaheo, daughter Leilani (Eddie) Huddy-O’Rourke of New York, grandchildren Stephanie Patricio-Huddy, Tiffany Patricio-Huddy, Alika Huddy Jr., Kayla Cachero-Ramos, Kawelo Huddy, Frank O’Rourke, Patrick O’Rourke, Alex O’Rourke, Lauren O’Rourke, great-grandchildren Sarah Alquiza, Jaxon Parongao, Kalawai‘a Dela Cruz, Kia‘i Dela Cruz, Evan O’Rourke, Grayson O’Rourke, Jayce O’Rourke, Colton O’Rourke, Ryder Maxson, brother Joseph Munks of New York and sister Gail Gallo of New York.
A service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai. Visitation from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of life from 11 a.m. to noon. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Thomas Atou
Thomas Atou, of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii, lived a life defined by service, family, and faith.
Born in 1933, Thomas was a retired Captain of Kauai Community Correctional Center (KCC) and retired from the Pearl Harbor Navy Police Division. Beyond his professional dedication, he was a Sir Knight and 4th Degree member of the Catholic Knights of Columbus organization.
Tommy shared 61 years of marriage with his wife, Viola Brandt. Together, they raised two children, Lila and Tom (Tammy). Tommy found happiness in being a grandfather to his three grandchildren: Tina, Taylor-Anne, and Thomas. Known fondly as “Papa,” Tommy was a constant presence at their school events and extracurricular activities throughout college, always their biggest supporter.
He is survived by his brothers Samson, Jesse, and Bennet, spouses, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A service will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in Kapaa. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “St. Catherine’s Church”.
