PRINCEVILLE — The 11th annual Ohana FitFest in Princeville raised $20,000 in proceeds, organizers have announced.
In September, the North Shore Give Foundation organized North Shore Give Week, culminating at the 11th annual Ohana FitFest 5K run. The event attracted approximately 400 participants, including runners, walkers, volunteers and sponsors to Kauai’s North Shore.
The initiative successfully generated $20,000 in funding for local schools.
On Dec. 4, Ohana FitFest allocated the proceeds to Hanalei Elementary School, Kilauea Elementary School, Kauai Christian Academy, Kauai Homeschool Now, and Kanuikapono Public Charter School to support the school’s respective fitness programs and equipment needs.
“Giving grants to schools for health-focused programs is our way of encouraging children to embrace healthy, active lifestyles,” said Ken Rosenthal, North Shore Give board member, chair of the Health and Wellness Committee, and director of the Ohana FitFest. “This year was the 11th anniversary of Ohana FitFest, and we’re excited to keep the tradition alive for many more years to inspire healthy kids.”
“Save the date and join us for the fun on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025,” he added.
