KAPAA — Kauai High School girls soccer player Kylah Racca found net in the first three minutes of play on Wednesday afternoon, and Coral Turner’s net closed the book in the 76th minute on a 6-0 shutout over Island School during the Kauai Interscholastic Federation girls soccer matches that were played at both the Vidinha and Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Park stadiums.
KAPAA — Kauai High School girls soccer player Kylah Racca found net in the first three minutes of play on Wednesday afternoon, and Coral Turner’s net closed the book in the 76th minute on a 6-0 shutout over Island School during the Kauai Interscholastic Federation girls soccer matches that were played at both the Vidinha and Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Park stadiums.
Between the first and last nets, Red Raider Carlee Dusenberry added a pair of second-half nets, in the 57th and 62nd minutes, and Kylah Racca (there is a Kianah Racca on the Kauai High roster as well) found her second goal in the 45th minute.
Kauai High School girls were the only ones to score as Kapaa battled a solid Waimea girls squad to a 0-0 stalemate despite being outsized on the BJB field.
The high school boys enter the soccer arena starting on Saturday when the Kapaa High School Junior Varsity Boys tangle with Kauai High School starting at 10 a.m. at Vidinha Stadium.
Because Kauai High School has no JV girls squad, the game following the JV boys will feature the varsity boys kicking off at 11:45 a.m. The varsity girls meet starting at 1:45 p.m.
Over at the Island School main soccer field, Waimea High School varsity boys start play at 2 p.m. followed by the varsity girls starting at 4 p.m.
On Dec. 10, the Waimea varsity boys take on Kauai High School in a single contest starting at 4 p.m. On the same date, Island School varsity boys will travel to the BJB Sports Park stadium to visit Kapaa High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. in a single contest.
The varsity girls take the field on Dec. 11 when Waimea visits Kauai, and Island School visits Kapaa. Kickoff time is 4 p.m. at both fields.
