Across the parking lot, Gail Konishi is coordinating the Kauai Handworks Craft Fair that was started way back when by teachers at the Elsie Wilcox Elementary School. The Kauai Handworks Craft Fair starts from 8:30 a.m. in the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School cafeteria.
Little Pea said there are more than 35 vendors (“local Kauai crafters and small businesses”), a silent auction, and a lucky drawing hosted by the Kauai Bonsai Club who will have specimens on exhibit as well as for sale.
On Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church from 6 p.m., Kauai Hospice starts it first of three candlelighting memorial for people who have died.
Another memorial will take place on Thursday at the Hanapepe Hawaiian Congregational Church starting at 6 p.m., and the final candlelighting memorial will be held on Dec. 10 at the Saint Sylvester Catholic Church in Kilauea, also starting at 6 p.m. The candlelighting memorial is sponsored by Matson.
Kumu Hula Kapu Kinimaka-Alquiza said Na Hula O Kaohikukapulani will be hosting its annual Holiday Hula extravaganza on Sunday, starting from 6 p.m. at the Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center (don’t forget, Island Breeze is playing on Saturday night). Tickets (even for Island Breeze) are available at the box office.
Kudos to the county’s Employee Council on the presentation of gifts for the boys and girls of Hale Opio that just got its 50th anniversary celebratory shirts.
