Bernadine A. Soares
Bernadine A. Soares, of Lihue, passed away on Nov. 9, 2024, at the age of 92. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Oct. 25, 1932, and worked as a Library Assistant III.
She was preceded in passing by her daughter Audrey Mann, parents Carson and Rose Hamilton, sisters Blanche Thomason, Beryle Puu and brother Albert Hamilton.
Bernadine is survived by her daughters Bernadette Uyesono, Ernette (Jose) Moreno-Sanchez, sons Norman (Ima) Gonsalves, Ernest (Wendy) Gonsalves, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, from 9 to 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Helen Martin
Helen Martin, of Kalaheo, passed away on Nov. 10, 2024, in Lihue, at the age of 96. She was born on Nov. 4, 1928, in Waimea, Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alfonso F. Martin, son Ronald Martin, daughter Marilynn Martin, parents Antone and Virginia Lara Martin.
She is survived by her son Wayne Al Martin of Kalaheo, daughters Phyllis Andrade of Lawai, Valerie Perreira of Kalaheo, Aileen Endicott of Kalaheo, nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, brother Willie Martin of Kekaha and sister Emily Souza of Kalaheo.

Gary John Simao
Gary John Simao, of Honolulu, passed away on Oct. 13, 2024, at The Queen’s Medical Center at the age of 74. He was born on Sept. 30, 1950, in Lihue. He was a computer web designer.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Eva Simao.
Gary is survived by his brother Randall (Edwina) Simao of Hanapepe, sisters Judith (Christopher) Earl of Scottsdale, Jayne (Douglas) Domen of Lihue, nephews Cullen (Kaui), Nathaniel, niece Brooke, grandnephews Hakoa, A‘ali‘i, numerous family members and friends.
The family has requested private services to be held at a later date.
