Happy Thanksgiving, Kauai … the turkey is getting ready for the oven and Santa Phil (Worwa) was already thrilling the several busloads of boat traffic on Saturday when he showed off the outfit he was using to perform a wedding. He was so thrilled, he almost forgot his pair of gloves (mahalo, Sue and Bill Rogers of Tallahassee, Florida, for noticing).

He was so thrilled, he almost forgot his pair of gloves (mahalo, Sue and Bill Rogers of Tallahassee, Florida, for noticing).
Edwin Vea was thrilled to run into his Michigan ohana, Dave (he works with Edwin at The Beach House), Sue and Terry George at the Grove Farm Market where the trio got an early start on Saturday with a stop at the Wicked Brew. Mayette Loseto (did you ever see orange banana?) was getting her load of citrus ready for the Hanalei Taro food truck, and the Master Gardeners were busy talking about the differences between the N-63 and Kewalo tomato …
Rudy Sina is getting excited about the fertilizer presentation that’s happening on Dec. 7 when the Grove Farm Market brings its craft fair component to the market (did Likety Louie make it to Kalapaki to see the University of Hawaii beach volleyball?).
Charo is getting excited about the Lights on Rice parade because her “rooftop” is already done, and Cat (the earrings are from Alaska) is going to have her fancy hair done up so she can be on the float (Laurie Yoshida said the parade already has more than 50 floats registered!).
Closer to home, Pilare Mukai of The Shops at Kukuiula is getting excited about Black Friday. There will be a breakfast from Lappert’s starting at 8 a.m. to get things popping, and Michael Gibson and the Grand Hyatt Kauai ohana is welcoming the community to enjoy the resort’s holiday lights that will be turned on Dec. 1 from 4 to 6 p.m.
