KALAHEO — What are you going to do with all that candy collected while trick-or-treating?
KALAHEO — What are you going to do with all that candy collected while trick-or-treating?
For the ninth year, the Kalaheo Dental Group is offering to buy back some, or all, of that stash at the rate of $1 per pound to a maximum of 5 pounds. Additionally, all candy sellers will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card from Small Fry Kauai in Kukui Grove Center.
The Kalaheo Dental Group invites the turn-in of new, candy wrapped in original wrappers for just one day — Nov. 1 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at its offices located in the Rainbow Plaza in Kalaheo.
Collected candy will be sent to our nation’s troops through Operation Shoebox, a nonprofit organization that sends care packages to troops stationed overseas. From the Kalaheo offices, the UPS Store in Kukui Grove Center will join this support effort by shipping the candy to Operation Shoebox.
“Our troops take care of us back here in the USA by protecting us and our freedoms,” Kalaheo Dental Group said in a statement. “Let’s support them while they are deployed away from their families and friends.”
People wishing to support the troops are also welcome to drop off their contributions during the buyback period.
