Kapi‘olani and nurses reach an agreement

Craig T. Kojima / Star-Advertiser Kapiolani nurses, who had been working without a contract since December 2023, gathered in front of the hospital on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, the first morning of a lockout imposed by the hospital.

Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children and the Hawaii Nurses’ Association on Tuesday reached a tentative contract agreement after over a year of contentious negotiations and on the 18th day of the hospital’s lockout of roughly 600 unionized nurses.
