LIHUE — A trio of westside sports courts are in line for some capital improvement work after the Kauai County Council approved the receipt and expenditure of $1.65 million from the state.
Kekaha Faye Park, Waimea Athletic Field and Hanapepe Stadium Park will each undergo various resurfacing projects with the work most likely to occur next year after design and planning details are sorted.
The money will be used to resurface the tennis courts at Kekaha Faye Park; resurface the basketball courts at Waimea Athletic Field; and to resurface the tennis courts at Hanapepe Stadium.
“So grateful for Rep. (Dee) Morikawa and Senate President (Ron) Kochi because it looks like rather than using county funds to resurface these projects, I think we are going to get state funds to pay for it,” said County Council member Ross Kagawa at the Wednesday, Sept. 25, meeting of the council at which the group approved the receipt and expenditure of the money.
Great Legislature can fund 1.65 million for our tennis courts but is not dealing with our CESSPOOL CRISIS here on Kauai!!! Time for new legislatures who will address our CESSPOOL CRISIS so people can get building permits to build homes!!!!!
