Congratulations to the representatives of the seven recipient organizations that received a portion of the proceeds from the recent 40th anniversary Kapena concert during the latest edition of Downtown Lihue Night Market, where several vendors were able to strike camp from the Line Dance fundraiser for the Kauai Veterans Center and set up on Kress Street. The groups shared about $9,000.

Sgt. Major Ian Versammy and his Kapaa High School JROTC were not able to attend the checks distribution event because they were involved in the presentation of colors at the Kauai Interscholastic Federation football games being contested at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex.
Artist Mary Ann Donagher had some of her paintings featuring the Kauai High School farm and Mother Nature on display at the market alongside Carla Kirk of the Kauai Performing Arts Center. Kirk was on hand to announce the upcoming performances of “And Then There Were None” in December as well as “Footloose” on the first day of class following Winter Break in January at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Center. The public performance schedule comes up before school lets out in May.
