Survivors experience first anniversary of tragic Maui wildfires

Molokai and Lahaina friends and family gathered for kanikapila at Malapai, commonly known as the Kahana Boat Ramp, to share gratitude for each other. Community members from Molokai were the first to respond with immediate aid for the Lahaina wildfire survivors by ferrying supplies to the boat ramp right after the disaster. LAHAINA, Hawai‘i — There are as many memories of the Aug. 8, 2023, Maui wildfires as there are people who experienced the horrors of that day.
