Congratulations Andana Aswath, who flew in from India to officiate the service that was delayed, while Ambuj collected elements of the service that included the main elements of the deities, the light, a candle and water.
Construction on the spaces is underway, and Ambuj is looking for a September opening if everything goes on schedule.
Kahu Jade Waialeale Battad (she said she blessed Ambuj’s house) emceed the Polynesian Revue that is a part of Koloa Plantation Days that continues with the 38th annual Parade and Park Celebration on Saturday (roads shut from 9 a.m., motorists and The Kaua‘i Bus riders).
The invitation to the Indian blessing was a welcome addition to the collection of cultures being demonstrated through song and dance by Urahutia Productions, whose director Mi Nei got her start at Po‘ipu Shopping Village. The cultures being celebrated included the Hawaiian, Tahitian, Maori and Samoan cultures … we have the Tahitian dance and Samoan siva afi, or fireknife, coming with Heiva i Kaua‘i on Aug. 3 and 4 at Kapa‘a Beach Park.
And, if you still need things to do after the parade, the Hawai‘i Children’s Theater presents Willy Wonka Jr. on Friday and Saturday starting at 7 p.m., and a Sunday matinée starting at 3 p.m. at Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall.
That is enough time to take in The Beach House Craft Fair on Sunday that Edwin Vea said will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
