POKII RIDGE — Air and ground assets are being used to combat a brush fire off Koke‘e Road, the County of Kaua‘i said on Friday afternoon.
The fire, which broke out on Thursday evening, also prompted Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative to de-energize the Koke‘e circuit on Friday. There is no estimated timeline for re-energizing the circuit. Approximately 116 customers are affected by the move.
Koke‘e Road is closed from Kekaha Road to Waimea Canyon Drive. Waimea Canyon Drive is closed from Panini Place to the junction of Waimea Canyon Drive and Koke‘e Road.
No injuries have been reported and no structures are in jeopardy.
