Kumu’s Cupboard will be hosting a School Supply Drive for educators this Saturday (isn’t that when the Koloa Plantation Days people, and the County of Kaua‘i are cleaning Maluhia Road?) during the weekly Grove Farm Market at the Puhi park open field (the regular Puhi Park is where the Kaua‘i Senior Softball League plays).

Elyse Litvack, a co-founder of Kumu’s Cupboard, said this is a time to support Kaua‘i’s teachers by donating new classroom supplies, or making a monetary donation to Kumu’s Cupboard (visit www.kumuscupboard.org to find out more about what Kumu’s does for Kaua‘i’s educators.

Congratulations, Laura Lindsey, a candidate for Office of Hawaiian Affairs, for coming out to Wahine Made so potential voters can get to know who they’re voting for. This election (primary coming up August 10) has been super slow in terms of seeing who’s running for which seat…nobody’s been at the bon dances, and where else?
Kudos to the organizers of Wahine Made (love that signage near the entrance) for getting more than 60 vendors, including Ice Cold Brew (Donya McKnight — they got a good truck near Mark’s Place in Puhi! — was still on her feet following rigorous workout at the Kaua‘i Hospice Concert in the Sky…Isaiah Dosono and the Kaua‘i Kim Chee ‘ohana were back at the Grove Farm Market in full form.
Okay, we’ll see if Francis and Geraldine Baniaga of Mother’s Filipino Comfort Food make it back to the Pau Hana Market…oh yeah, they’re at the Harbor Mall food truck area on Sundays from 4 p.m.
