Irene Kaui Miyashiro, center with lei, spends a quiet 92nd birthday at the grave of her husband Tsutomu Miyashiro, and surrounded by members of her family in the family’s burial plot in Kapa‘a on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Born on July 6, 1932, Irene has eight children, including Irene Miyashiro, Susan Villabrille, Clayton Miyashiro, Lynn Salvador, Tyrus Crane Miyashiro, Iris Thronas, Randall Miyashiro, and Diane Mundon. She also has 28 grandchildren, 80 great grandchildren, and 24 great-great grandchildren.

Kumu’s Cupboard will be hosting a School Supply Drive for educators this Saturday (isn’t that when the Koloa Plantation Days people, and the County of Kaua‘i are cleaning Maluhia Road?) during the weekly Grove Farm Market at the Puhi park open field (the regular Puhi Park is where the Kaua‘i Senior Softball League plays).
