Michael Bruce Farley
Michael Bruce Farley, of Kapa‘a, passed away on May 18, 2024, at the age of 67. He was born in San Diego, California, on May 17, 1957, and he was a carpenter and contractor.
He was preceded in passing by mother Patricia Aileen Brown and father Bruce Farley.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Jennifer Farley, daughters Sara Miller, Heather Becker, son Gage Farley, several grandchildren, sisters Karen Reney, Helen Farley, Kelly Barger, numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 5534 Kaapuni Rd., Kapahi, on Saturday, July 6, with visitation from 11 a.m., services beginning at 11:30 a.m., and luncheon to follow.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Susan Howie Burriss
Susan Howie Burriss, of Kapa‘a, passed away on June 12, 2024, at the age of 81. She was born on Nov. 5, 1942, in Danbury, Connecticut, to Morton and Elizabeth Lawson Shepard. She was an Attorney.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Scott Burriss.
Susan is survived by her children Harry Robert Howie, III (Jill), Brian Shepard Howie, Catherine Scott Burris (Elaine Tse) and four grandchildren.

Gilbert Toshio Tanaka
Gilbert Toshio Tanaka, of Kapa‘a, passed away on June 18, 2024, in Kapa‘a at the age of 91. He was born on Oct. 25, 1932, in Kapa‘a, Kaua‘i. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, an irrigation supervisor at the Wailua Golf Course, and a Watchmaker at Tanaka Jewelers.
He was preceded in death by parents Hajime and Isayo Tanaka, sisters Alice Saito, Elaine Hirano and Bernice Kashiwai.
He is survived by wife Fumiko Tanaka, son Wade (Krishen) Tanaka of Lihu‘e, daughter Rae (Lyle) Miyasaki of Phoenix, Arizona, five grandchildren, brother Abraham Tanaka, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at a later date.

Harmony Yun Yuen Ching
Harmony Yun Yuen Ching, of Kalaheo, passed away on June 6, 2024, in Kalaheo at the age of 90. He was born on Sept. 13, 1933, in Waimea, Kaua‘i. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and retired from law enforcement.
He was preceded in death by parents Samuel and Eva Ching, brothers Harold Ching, Clesson Ching, Lester Ching, Wilford Ching and sister Opal Trembath.
He is survived by wife Edna Ching of Kalaheo, daughters Krystal Kramer (Tom) of California, Stephanie Ching (Keola) of Kaua‘i, Valerie Ching of California, four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be announced at a later date.
