Honolulu and DHHL unveil plan for Kailua land

Two Honolulu City Council members have proposed largely gifting the land to the state Department of Hawaiian Home Lands for homestead use.

HONOLULU — Honolulu City Council members and the state Department of Hawaiian Home Lands on Tuesday unveiled a Council resolution to approve the transfer of city residential property in Kailua to DHHL to develop single-­family homes for Hawaiian home lands beneficiaries.
