KALAHEO — The Team Lihu‘e Storm sixth grade girls was the sole Kaua‘i winner following the Westside Basketball Club’s Memorial Day Tournament that ended on Monday at Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
KALAHEO — The Team Lihu‘e Storm sixth grade girls was the sole Kaua‘i winner following the Westside Basketball Club’s Memorial Day Tournament that ended on Monday at Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
“The girls were 4-0 this weekend,” said Coach Max Manera. “They played a strong Honolulu Sharks team twice in Pool Play, and then again in the championship game.”
The Team Lihu‘e Storm beat the Sharks 27-22 in the title contest for the sixth grade girls championship.
On the boys side, the Maui Rebels claimed the sixth grade boys championship.
At the eighth grade level, the Maui Rebels swept the tournament after claiming the eighth grade boys championships.
The eighth grade girls title went to the Kona Stingrays.
“Mahalo to Coach Dino Pabre, and Coach Jason Peralta for hosting a great tournament,” Manera said. “The tournament included teams from O‘ahu, Maui and the Big Island.”
