The Rotary Club of Kapa‘a presents the Taste of Hawai‘i on June 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Smith’s Tropical Paradise gardens in Wailua. Parking for patrons is at Vidinha Stadium with shuttles operating to transport guests to and from the event.
Starting more than 30 years ago — can you imagine the first Taste events were held at the Coco Palms Resort — the Taste of Hawai‘i provides funds for the Rotary Club of Kapa‘a service projects and student scholarships that are presented to high school seniors.
This year’s event will feature more than 25 chefs from restaurants around the state. There will be more than 10 beverage vendors (this is a 21 and over event) and more than a dozen music and entertainment groups.
Traditionally, an on-site silent auction greeted guests to the event. The Taste website teases an online auction by Malama Auctions that is coming soon by visiting tasteofhawaii.net.
Billed as “The Ultimate Sunday Brunch,” and voted No. 1 Community Event, sponsorship opportunity details and donations can also be found by visiting the website.
