MOLOA’A — Investigators with the Kaua’i Police Department (KPD) are renewing their efforts and continue to request the public’s assistance regarding a homicide that occurred in February 2020.
The request comes as authorities continue to pursue leads that may enhance the investigation of the case.
The investigation began on Feb. 6, 2020, when 57-year-old Paul Christie was found dead in bushes along the side of Kuhio Highway in the Moloa‘a area. An autopsy revealed that Christie’s death was consistent with a homicide.
Christie was last seen alive on Feb. 4, 2020, at the Princeville Shopping Center, where he worked at Piazza Restaurant as a dishwasher. KPD reported back in 2021 that they believed Christie was heading southbound toward Lihu’e before he was killed.
Christie did not have a known permanent address, but lived in Princeville. According to friends, Christie had been traveling the island on foot and they have no reason to believe that Christie had any enemies.
If anyone has any information on the homicide, they are encouraged to contact Detective Brian Silva at 808-246-1908. People wishing to remain anonymous can provide information by calling CrimeStoppers Kaua‘i at 808-246-8300.
