KALALAU — First responders rescued a 36-year-old Massachusetts woman on the Kalalau Trail after she felt dehydrated on Thursday afternoon.
KALALAU — First responders rescued a 36-year-old Massachusetts woman on the Kalalau Trail after she felt dehydrated on Thursday afternoon.
Kaua‘i Fire Department (KFD) personnel with the Hanalei Fire Station responded to the incident and reported that the department received the 911 call at approximately 2:10 p.m. of a dehydrated hiker near Kalalau Beach who was in need of assistance.
Rescue 3 onboard Air 1 arrived at the Kalalau Beach scene where they made contact with the hiker.
The woman was transported to Princeville Airport where personnel with the Hanalei Fire Station and the American Medical Response (AMR) team waited on her arrival.
After being treated by medical personnel, the woman declined medical transport and was released.
The scene was cleared shortly after 4 p.m.
