Desiree Kuilani Tung Loong
Desiree Kuilani Tung Loong, 65, of Kapa‘a, passed away on O‘ahu on April 14, 2024. She was born on Kaua‘i on Dec. 29, 1958, and was a Housekeeper at various hotels and condos.
Preceded in death by her parents Richard Hooikaika, Emmaline (Tung Loong) Hooikaika, grandparents Edward and Lucia Tung Loong.
She is survived by her husband Philbert Carvalho, brothers Ahkem (Catalina) Hooikaika, Frank (Ululani) Hooikaika, William “BJ” (Ellen) Hooikaika, Steven (Lizann) Carvalho, Alan (Gary Ann) Carvalho, sisters Elizabeth (Johnny) Hooikaika, Lynette (Don) Medina, Valerie (Joe) Contrades Charlotte (Ben) May, hanai son Kalani Poe-Hooikaika, mother-in-law Alice Carvalho, brother and uncle Ahkem (Roz) Tung Loong, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e with viewing from 9 a.m. and services beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Gilbert Ontoy Pacleb
Born on Aug. 16, 1967, passed away on Nov. 26, 2023 at home. He was 56 years old. He was a hardworking husband and a loving father. He was a passionate business owner of Bulla’s Painting and attended Pearl City High School.
He was preceded in death by father Gilbert Pacleb, stepfather Baltazar Ortiz Jr., sisters Kathleen “Katinka” Barco and Conchita Ortiz.
He is survived by mother Incarnacion Ortiz, stepmother Theresa Pacleb, wife Laurie Pacleb, children Lani, Sunnylee, Chelsea, Gilbert Jr., Gilroy, Krystalyn, sisters Darlene (Davay) Tapusoa, Elena (Angel) Ortiz, Ariel Pacleb, brothers Anthony Ortiz, Caleb Pacleb, four grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Francisco ‘Cisco’ Campos Jr.
Francisco “Cisco” Campos Jr. passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Straub Medical Center in Honolulu, at the age of 76 years old. He was born on March 27, 1948, in Waimea, Kaua‘i.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served in the Vietnam War. He worked for the County of Kauai Public Works Department Solid Waste Division for over 20 years and then retired as a baggage supervisor for United Airlines in 2016.
He is survived by his five daughters Tasha (Tommy) Stetter of Illinois, Leanna Campos (Rueben Games) of Waimea, Leilani Campos of Honolulu, Laola Campos (Chad Ishida) of Waimea, Noe Campos (Kawai Rapozo) of Waimea, grandchildren Jacey (Mana) Alquiza, Drayden, Jaycob, Daylen (Brennan) Ferrara, Pomai, Malu, Ezekiel, Ezra, Ivory, Kayce, great-grandchildren Kayzee-Marie, Tyson, Taelyn-Marie, Kaine, Irie Reign, sister Fely Dement of Hanapepe, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i, beginning at 2 p.m., and burial will be on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Opal Healani Sui Len Trembath
Opal Healani Sui Len Trembath, 87, of Lihu‘e, peacefully passed surrounded by loved ones on March 29, 2024, in Lihu‘e. She was born on Oct. 17, 1936, in Huleia Valley. She retired as the Kupuna Program Director at Alu Like.
She was preceded in death by parents Samuel and Eva Ching, husband Charles Trembath, siblings Harold Ching, Clesson Ching, Lester Ching and Wilford Ching.
She is survived by children Debbie Lee-Jackson (George Jackson), Richard Lee (Michele Lee), Kristi Lee (Claurino Bueno), 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service is Saturday, May 4, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lihu‘e Ward Chapel. Viewing begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. The family requests that you wear purple attire.

Aletha “Puna” Kawelukawahinehololioolimaloa Goodwin Kaohi, of Waimea, Kaua‘i, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 in Waimea, Kaua‘i, at the age of 93. She was born on June 19, 1930, in Waimea, Kaua‘i.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mervin Kaohi Sr., son Mervin Kaohi Jr., and parents William K. Goodwin and Margaret Kamai.
She is survived by son Galen (Andrea) Kaohi of Waimea, Kaua‘i, daughters Kawailana Mata of Waimea, Kaua‘i, Lamela (Rodney) Kahalepuna of Honolulu, O‘ahu, Vivian (Michael) Tamashiro of Mililani, O‘ahu, 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, brother Edward Taniguchi of Kalalea, Kaua‘i, numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be on Saturday May 11, 2024, at the Hanapepe Hawaiian Congregational Church in Hanapepe Town. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a celebration of her life. The family suggests that aloha and casual attire be worn, flowers and leis are welcomed.
